I've been thinking about building a new pc lately and I want to spend around 1k on it. I've been looking around at what a few sites recommend and I'd like to know if anyone here is into gaming pc's and could recommend something. Also if you wouldn't mind take a look at the $1000 option on this site : http://newbcomputerb...september-2014/ I priced it out and it would be around $1300 in the end, let me know what you think and if that is worth the money.

Depends on what you play and how often you actually shut down your pc, but it really makes a massive difference when you boot your pc or load (big) games.

If you are looking to save money i'd recommend opting to not get the ssd or the cooler kit (the stock one is fine). Also that graphics card is much less then it says.

I believe a 256 GB SSD is about 130 dollars apparently (Crucial/micron MX100, the Samsung EVO series is pretty good too, but a little more expensive). For about 210 dollars you can get a 512 GB version. Quite affordable, when I build my PC I spend like 130 dollars on a 128 GB version (look to upgrade now..).

 

I think they're worth the money because the significantly improve your systems speed. 

 

EDIT: I do suggest you get an SSD larger than 128 GB. You're going to want to install most (if not all) of your software on there and Windows + BF4 alone are probably going to take up ~70 GB of the drive already. I suggest you get an 256/512 GB SSD and a small HDD (0.5-1 TB?) to store media and such.

I don't know but I've always been against gaming on a laptop...
